Called at Raffles on 21/10/06 for lunch, but wished we had gone elsewhere. We were surprised that the prices seemed to be the most expensive compared to other cafes in Preston, £5.30+ for a baguette. Not put off by this we ordered the home made quiche (cheese and tomatoe) served with salad and chips/baked potatoe, and 2 regular lattees. Extremely disappointed with the food when it arrived. The quiche was very thick pastry with little filling. It was tasteless, no sign of any cheese whatsoever, could have bought better from a budget supermarket! The chips were a big let down, very thin, again tasted like a budget range. Finally the side salad was a joke. It consisted of half a tomatoe cut into two, a couple of slices of cucumber, and iceberg lettuce that seemed to be an after thought. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and efficient. The lattes were very nice, however were thimble measures, evidence of more cost cutting. The bill came to £15.00, and based on the sub standard of the food we definately won't be dining there again.
